The pages soaked it up like a sponge, turning from their usual crisp parchment into a soggy mess. When I checked on it the next morning, a strange, blue, and green mycelium had crawled across the pages, weaving through the ink, transforming it into something else entirely. The mold had settled in like it owned the place.
